10 Oatmeal Recipes that are Basically Desserts in Disguise

Running this blog for about two and a half years, I've noticed a trend.

You people love chocolate.

My chocolate recipes consistently receive more traffic than my non-chocolate ones. The nut butter ones perform well, too, but nothing compares to those chocolate ones.

It's not like I'm surprised by this: eating dessert for breakfast is da bomb! (People are still using that phrase, right?)

To celebrate, here are ten recipes that are basically just desserts in disguise.

P.S. I will not be posting any new recipes this week as I will be taking a "mental health week." I will see you again next Saturday! In the mean time, don't forget to check out your local farmers' market and upload your oatmeal creations with the hashtag #FarmFreshOatmeal! Shout out to @lenoresmiles and @healthymonkey_ for already uploading theirs!

10 Dessert "Oatmeal" Recipes ;)

This recipe is surprisingly healthy. It's sweetened by bananas and nothing
else (unless you add chocolate chips). Surprisingly, it tastes like decadent
brownie batter!

No fruit. No vegetables. Lightly sweetened with maple syrup. Tastes
like a peanut butter cookie. We're not playing around with this one.

Cookie Dough Muesli

It might be the healthiest cookie dough you've ever eaten, but
it still feels like dessert.

Salted Brownie Baked Oatmeal

For when you can't decide between a peanut butter, chocolate,
and a salty craving. The struggle is real.

Better for you than a Subway cookie.'s still basically dessert. ;)

Carrot Halwa Steel Cut Oatmeal

Without a doubt, this is the healthiest option on the list. However, if you
love Indian desserts, you'll appreciate this one.

Lava Baked Oatmeal

The GIF doesn't lie.

Cobbler Baked Oatmeal
Peach; Blueberry; Strawberry-Rhubarb (pictured below)

LOADS of fruity goodness.

Frosted Brownie Baked Oatmeal

Why settle for a brownie when you could have a frosted brownie?

  1. I'm new to Instagram and Twitter, hopefully my posts would appear. I have so far had 3 posts (Fresh Carrot Ginger, Fresh Eggs, Frozen Fresh Bananas). It's my first time baking my oatmeal, and using these social networks! I only knew how to use Facebook, so I'm trying to explore these 2 newbies. Have a pleasant week ahead, Lauren! My best wishes to you.

  2. Yum!! I have really been getting back into more of an oatmeal kick here lately so this is just what I needed. Thank you!

  3. Hope things start going better for you soon!!! I just wanted to let you know I love your blog and check it Every. Single. Day! You have even been an inspiration to create my own blog! Keep up the yummy work!
