Fuzzy Navel Oatmeal

Ahem. I better be careful posting all these cocktail oatmeal recipes, or people will get the wrong idea about me!

But to be honest, the orange-peach combo is truly divine. Truly. And the oatmeal version is even better--no hangover included!

Prep Time: 5 min
Cook Time: 5 min
Ingredients (serves 1)
  • 1 cup milk of choice, orange juice, or water
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats (I use Country Choice Organic)
  • 1 orange
  • 1 yellow peach, diced
  • pinch of salt
Instructions
  1. Bring milk (I use an equal mixture of almond milk and orange juice) to a boil, add oats, and reduce heat to medium. I also added a spoonful of chia seeds at the same time as my oats.
  2. Cut the orange in half and spoon out the segments on both sides. It's easier to spoon it out if you slice along the edges first!
  3. Once more of the liquid has absorbed, add peach and a pinch of salt. Stir.
  4. When you're pleased with the consistency of the oatmeal, transfer to a bowl. Serve with another splash of your milk of choice, orange zest, and any other additional toppings (shredded coconut, nuts, etc.).

  2. My main concern is how much money in ink it is going to cost me to print all of these recipes:) Every single one I look at I want to try. I'm so happy I've stumbled across your site. My kids love oatmeal and since they were little I would buy the mixed flavors of oatmeal, so they would get used to more than just the brown sugar one. This year, my goal for my kids is to take 80% of the sugar out of their diet. I've taken a lot out of mine. I like oatmeal, but simply havent figured out a way to take the sugar out and make it taste good. I also love it because it is cheap enough if you dont get all fancy with which kind you buy. I get a huge box from Costco and it could easily last us 1-2 months for 10.00. Where else can you get breakfast for a whole month for 10.00 + the cost of fruit or whatever else you put in it. I'm sure my kids will tell me that phrase that I love to hear from them, when I start rolling these out as their breakfast.... "MOM YOU ARE THE BEST MOM EVER." I'll follow up after I make a few of these.
